Welcome to the Burway Head page.
Regrettably, because of the fast stream (red boards along the whole of the River Thames) and the forecast for more rain over the next week, the Burway Head has been cancelled.
Thank you very much to all the clubs and schools who supported us. A full refund will be made for all entry fees paid.
The 2026 Burway Head is on Saturday 21st February and entries are now open on BROE2.
On a delightful stretch of the river, it is an upstream course of about 3,000 metres, starting from just above the M3 bridge near Chertsey Lock, and finishing just downstream of Penton Hook Lock. It is on the Thames, so there are bends, which make it even more fun (…….and challenging).
Events are available for 8+. 8x+, 4+, 4-, 4x+, 4x-, with prizes for all winners where 3 or more crews compete in an event.
There will be 2 divisions, at 10.30 am and 1pm. – The fee is £18 per seat (excl coxes). All fees must be paid by 14th Feb.
Please note that in the event of cancellation we will make a full refund of all entry fees paid.
Coaches must ensure that all instructions, marshalling, safety plan and course details etc, are read and understood by your crews. If you have any questions, please click here.
