Burway Rowing Club 'Learn to Row' Courses
Burway is a friendly competitive rowing club situated on the Thames between Staines and Chertsey in Surrey. We have members ranging in age from 12 to 70 and new members – from experienced rowers to total beginners - are always welcome.
Burway Rowing Club is offering Learn to Scull courses for both experienced sweep rowers and complete beginners, Adult and Junior. The Senior course is coached by British Rowing Association regional coach Christy Job. The course will be run over four Wednesday evenings throughout the spring and summer of 2009 and will include quad sculling, double sculling, single scull confidence drills and single scull manoeuvrability. The course fee of £90 includes temporary membership of Burway Rowing Club. Participants must also become a social member of the British Rowing Association which is a fee of £22 which can be paid online.
Burway also runs a similar Learn to row course for Juniors coached by Burway head coach Jim Mathieson. The course will cost £40 and be held over six weeks. At the end of the course you will be invited to join Burway as a full member.
