Last weekend the club played host to a German crew from Karlsruhe , this crew have just purchased the Carl Douglas boat (for 5 ) made for the Take That Progress video.

Notes from the AGM
It was proposed and agreed by the outgoing committee to move the club financial year from 31st September to the 31st March this will align the financial year with the subscription year. The next financial year end will be 31st March 2013 so the accounts will be for an 18 month period 1st October 2011 – 31st March 2013.
The next AGM will be held April 2013.
It was proposed and agreed to increased the annual subscription to the following rates effective 1st April 2012:
Full senior membership to £240.00
Full Junior membership to £120.00
Student membership to £120.00
Sculling Boat rack Fee to £60.00
The Captain Awards for the year went to:
Club person of the year:- Amanda Craddock
Most Successful Junior:- Tom Barras
Most Successful Senior:- Amanda Craddock
Most Improved Junior:- This was shared equally by Rachel Gray and Billy Seddon

Burway retain their title in the Annual Staines vs. Burway VIII’s Challenge Cup.
This year the race was hard fought with several clashes in the Narrows. It started at Penton Hook Lock with the finish adjacent to the Burway Clubhouse.

Today’s boat naming was a huge success with a high turnout of members and supporters. Congratulations to Clive Morris who had the new double named after him today, the boat was christened with champagne then rowed by Clive and his son Chris. Clive has been coaching at Burway for 11 years - thank you Clive.
A big thank you also goes out to Gill Woodward for organising the cheese and wine.

Anthony is organising a 24 hr team ergo challenge to be held at the club during July in aid of the Katie Piper Foundation who help individuals with burns and scars in need of medical attention that they most likely wouldn't receive without the foundation.
